The Itoigawa Global Geopark is rugged by nature, particularly in mountainous areas. Many roads are narrow and offer limited visibility. Avoid driving in the mountains during inclement weather, drive slowly and carefully, be mindful of other cars, and obey all posted signs and road closures.
