Free Bonsai Activity Tour for Foreign Residents of Japan

The Itoigawa UNESCO Global Geopark is home to a variety of rare and beautiful plants and wildlife. Perhaps the most treasured of these is the Itoigawa Shimpaku, a variety of juniper tree which has long been called "The King of Bonsai."

Come visit Itoigawa on Oct 22nd and 23rd for a free tour where you will learn about this beautiful tree and the rugged environment which created it.

Tour participants will be able to make and take home their own Itoigawa Shimpaku mini bonsai!

Support Ukraine with this Limited Edition Geopark Necktie!

The Itoigawa Geopark Council, as a member of the Global Geoparks Network, is dedicated to supporting the people of Ukraine who have been displaced by the current humanitarian crisis. We have produced a new, limited edition necktie inspired by the colors of the Ukrainian flag, featuring a special, Ukrainian Color version of our mascot GeoMaru. The proceeds from the sale of this necktie will be donated to the International Red Cross to support Humanitarian Crisis Relief in Ukraine.
